This project included replacement and upgrade of a steam/chilled water distribution system across a heavily traveled site at Clearfield Hospital. A remote boiler plant feeds this underground medium pressure supply piping system.
An
existing steam manhole that was experiencing failure and slowly collapsing
required rebuilding or replacement. After several iterations by the engineers,
it was determined that replacement and enlargement of this existing manhole
would solve several problems occurring with the prior installation.
