PSU Sackett & Shields Smart Classrooms

The Sackett project involved conversion of an ordinary classroom into a state-of-the-art distance learning classroom. Features included 2 plasma screens, a smart board, tech rack, instructors’ station, cameras, and projector. The new setup will allow an instructor at Penn State University’s Main Campus to conduct interactive classes with students throughout the Commonwealth and across the U.S.

Similar to the Sackett project, the Shields project converted several small rooms into one larger “smart” instruction room and equipment storage area. This type of innovative modernization is becoming very common in the higher learning marketplace.
