This project involved renovations and a 2100 sq.ft. addition to a facility that provides daycare services for children with special needs. It is located on the edge of the historic district of Williamsport, PA, an area defined by numerous Victorian style mansions. Special considerations were given to those aspects of the new addition that would affect the surrounding neighborhood, such as site lighting, specified to have minimum spillage and to match the local ambiance.

Because of the nature of the services they provide, members of the staff frequently sit or kneel upon the floors along with the children. Drafts and cold floors were a common complaint during winter months. To overcome this problem, a floor radiant heating system was designed for the new addition and connected into the existing boiler system.
