Bon Secours Boiler Plant Upgrades

Bon Secours Campus of the Altoona Regional Health System retained our firm to provide services for the operational and maintenance upgrade of their existing high-pressure steam boiler plant. The goal was to create a safer operating environment with the dual-fuel boiler burner system in addition to making equipment life cycle improvements to the boiler and the boiler feed system and more consistent operating conditions.

Part of our project requirements was to make a recommendation to the owner about the reliability of the existing deaerator/condensate storage tank system. Other aspects included a complete replacement and upgrade of the existing burner fire control systems. The existing digital control panels had recently become obsolete and their reliability was significantly in question. Additionally, some of the burner fuel supply trains were deficient in terms of current standard safety valves.
