-
The
LEED® ( Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building
Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design,
construction and operation of high performance green buildings.
-
There
are different LEED Rating Systems for different types of projects:
- LEED-NC for New Construction & Major Renovations
- LEED-CI for Commercial
Interiors (Fit-outs)
- LEED-EB for Existing Buildings
- LEED-CS for Core and Shell
-
It
only takes 26 points to achieve certification under LEED-NC, 32 under
LEED-EB. Silver, Gold & Platinum levels can be achieved with additional
credits.
-
A
LEED Accredited Professional is proficient in the process of achieving
LEED certification and can make this process a whole lot easier for
you.
-
Making
a LEED Accredited Professional an integral member of the design team
automatically earns you one LEED Credit.

-
5
out of 7 LEED NC prerequisites are the responsibility of the mechanical
and electrical engineers
-
More
than half (between 53% and 59%) of all LEED credits are the responsibility
of the mechanical and electrical engineers
-
The
remaining credits are divided between the architect, the site/civil
engineers, and the commissioning agent.
